Positions: English Teacher in nurseries in Zhejiang Province
We have several vacancies available in nurseries in southern China, Zhejiang Province. The nurseries are located in Yiwu city, Xiangju City and YuHuang city.
We require outgoing and enthusiastic English teachers to work in those nurseries both boys and girls aged from 2-6 years
Responsibilities:
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- To ensure the children are cared for in a happy, safe and stimulating environment
- To plan, prepare and review the curriculum with your team
- To keep daily/weekly records of the children and work in partnership with the parents
- To follow and implement all the policies and procedures set out by the nurseries
- To ensure confidentiality at all times
Qualifications and Experience:
You will need to have the following qualifications, training and experience:
- Native English Speaker with TEFL/ESL qualification
- Previous experience of working with children (not essential but preferred)
- Excellent communication and organisational skills a must
Description:
Our children expect to attend classes:
- That are active and interesting with a focus on child-centred activities
- That provide them with lots of opportunities to practice speaking
- That help them to increase their active vocabulary by using relevant and interesting materials
- That help them to build their confidence to speak English
- That help them use useful language to communicate rather than memorize language for tests.
Our children expect their teacher:
- to be outgoing, humorous and to enjoy teaching
- to have a clear accent and to be professional (well dressed, punctual and well prepared for class).
- to be friendly, helpful and to care about their progress as individuals
- to prepare an interesting and lively class by preparing a variety of activities
- to plan and implement interactive classes that facilitate active participation by the children
- to give focused and useful feedbacks on their English and on their class performance
- to be familiar with basic classroom management techniques such as, monitoring, giving feedback, using the whiteboard effectively, teaching vocabulary, correcting mistakes, giving clear instructions and explanations
Duties include:
The duties of English Teachers are:
- Teach up to 22 contact hours per week (each lesson: no more than 30 minutes)
- Deliver child-centred classes
- Attend workshops
- Utilize the teaching materials effectively
- You are required to arrive at Nurseries by 22 August 2010
The emphasis is on motivating the children and making the learning of English an enjoyable experience.

- Monthly Salary: RMB4,000 – RMB5,000 (depending on qualifications and experience)[about RBM10 = £1]
- RMB500 towards visa cost
- Return air ticket reimbursed for one-year contract (up to RMB6,000) and half air ticket reimbursed for half-year contract (up to RMB3,000)
- Free accommodation and meals during contract period
What contract will there be?
Teachers are recommended for appointment by ASEC but they will each sign a contract directly with the Chinese employer. This will be done before the teacher comes to China.
What are the teacher’s responsibilities?
Teachers will be responsible for ensuring they meet all passport, visa and medical requirements currently in force and complying with all customs and legal requirements. This leaflet is a General Information Leaflet only and is subject to contract (i.e. to the specific contract between the Chinese employer and the Teacher).
ASEC’s Roles
ASEC is not an agent of the Chinese Employer or of the Teacher. It acts as a Consultant to the Chinese employer to advise them on some, but not all, matters relating to Teachers. ASEC is an educational consultancy and does not contract with or advise the teacher. It makes no charge to the teacher and incurs no legal liability for or by reason of the contractual arrangements made between the Chinese employer and the Teacher or otherwise. If an appointment is recommended the Teacher will be offered a contract specifying the salary for that particular teacher plus the other contractual conditions. It will be signed on behalf of the Chinese employer by one of its senior executive officers. It is up to the Teacher to seek any professional advice he/she requires, as ASEC cannot undertake any legal obligation to the teacher for advice or for any written or oral representations, for the statements herein in this leaflet, or otherwise.
